EAC Log

Hi all
I am a newby so please have mercy

I decided to rip my cd collection to flac. To do this I used EAC software. My problem is I never understand the log file, sometimes happnes someting like this:

Track  5

     Filename M:\RIP\Motian, Paul - 1974 - Tribute\05 - Song for Che.wav

     Peak level 65.5 %
     Extraction speed 8.0 X
     Track quality 100.0 %
     Copy CRC DDC01FDF
     Accurately ripped (confidence 2)  [E474617A]  (AR v2)
     Copy OK

All tracks accurately ripped

No errors occurred

seems that EAC say For me all is OK but CUETools don't confirm this. Someone can let me understand this because I never understand if the audio file is really good or not or lossy.

thanks in advance
Gian Claudio

Not to worry, as long as the rip is accurate, all the bits are ok. These sorts of issues are not audible. From my layperson's understanding, this message is only relevant in borderline cases where someone might need to repair a track that has several consistently ripped alternative checksums, which could be due to manufacturing differences.

CUETools DB (CTDB) stores multiple versions (CDs with the same physical layout) in the same record that may not be exactly the same so your rip may not match them all.
