wavepack files not seekable

recently downloaded some music files and they are wav files. When I play them they are not seekable. They do play but whenever I try to skip to a different part of the song it just starts over. I ripped my own wv files using wavpack and eac and they work fine. I have tried vlc, wmp and media player classic. All have the same problem. I know other people that have downloaded these audio files and they were seekable to them.

windows 7 pro 64bit
edit: of course legally. wavpack. sorry. whole thing has me kinda frustrated

Any help would be great!

Legally, I hope. This site isn’t here to make piracy more user-friendly.

“wavepack [sic]” or “wav”, which is it?
