At the time I was replaygaining (verb?) two vorbis albums as well as playing a song. I clicked on the foobar2000 menu and the foobar window froze, crashing a short time later.

Edit: Happened again when trying to replaygain the same two albums. Seemed to occur just as replaygain scanning finished and the results window came up. One album is a 'Various Artists' if it helps.

I suggest that you identify "MsgPlusLoader.dll" and perhaps uninstall app it belongs to. The thread that crashed isn't even created by our code and doesn't go through any of our DLLs, it's not something we can track down, let alone fixing it.

Greeting to all,

First: how do i search in 0.9 beta bugs only?? Using "0.9 beta bugs" and something else will not help.
Second: i have two discs ripped, burned to cd that will not play the last song from the cd completely. If i use fb 0.8.3 there is no problem
Sorry some data left: Using fb 0.9 beta 6, XP-SP2

Im getting weird track peak values with the replaygain scanner.
On two different albums I get track peaks which seems to have overflowed.
http://www.midron.tk/replaygain.jpg is a screenshot of one of the affected values. As you see the track peak is weird in three songs.
What is even more weird is that if I rescan the single song it'll work fine.

There's a small bug in the ID3v2 implementation with the IPLS Frame that's mapped to INVOLVEDPEOPLE
If the frame is in Unicode, foobar can't decode it properly, even if foobar wrote it itself!
Exists in 0.8.3 and 0.9

- Two tracks can appear to play in an infinite loop ('Default' order) when 'Playback follows cursor' and 'Cursor follows playback' are both enabled.
Reproduce: try dragging in your 'C:\Windows\Media' folder and let it run through the playlist; 'Windows XP Critical Stop.wav' and 'Windows XP Default.wav' will continue to play one after the other.
- %filesize% is undefined if the track is playing (%_filesize% works fine).
- You can ocasionally seek to infinity if you continue holding Right.

Nothing major.

I guess I could give you an answer, if only I knew what you are trying to say.

I guess he'd like a foobar 0.9 that doesn't give "Generic Error" on a lot of cd-s, instead of playing them. This bug was reported a few times in the bug report thread, but was left unanswered, IIRC.

Hi,
I'm experiencing output-problems (heavy jitter, *very* poor quality) during playback (wave, ogg, flac, mp3) with foobar 0.9beta6.
No problems with 0.8.3, output setting there: waveOut
Soundcard is kind of exotic (ProfDif Plus, professional audio), driver 1.1 for XP (www.marian.de), OS is XP Prof SP2

Nevertheless: foobar is great!
BTW, am I missing something, or is there no "freedb ->get tags" option yet?

Thanks,
Bernhard

0.9 hasn't given me any errors with cd's yet. Though I've only tested something like 5 cd's.

To me it was not a generic error, but it stopped playing a song after some seconds. Posted it to bug report, no comment until now.

Exactly... How can you not know of this bug, foosion? I can see it's been reported a dozen of times. And may I add that all of those cd's are original?
This always pops up (posted a page earlier):

Of course I have heard of this. Perhaps I would have also known that you were talking about it, if you had been a bit more verbose in your previous post. I don't like to spend my time on guessing what people are trying to say. Btw, we have this lovely bug report thread here for talking about bugs in 0.9 beta...

Regarding the bug, it has been fixed as far as we were able to reproduce it. It doesn't seem to occur with all drive models, and even those that are affected don't show it in every machine. The release date for beta 7 is not known yet, in case you felt like asking that.

I just tried this out on a few CDs... appears to be down to your drive. When trying to play a CD from my HP DVD Writer 400c it produce a similar error to above, where as when I tried playing it off my Samsung CD-ROM SC-148A it was perfectly fine.

Curiously enough, on what appeared to be older CDs foobar could play the first track but gave generic errors for the rest whereas newer CDs could not be played at all.

Hope that helps anyone.

EDIT: Looks like some mod deleted/moved the posts, so I am sorry for posting but it was done in the middle of me writing... Move/Delete this or whatever...

The "Fix MP3 header" function doesn't seem to work correctly in fb2k 0.9 beta 6. I encoded a file with GOGO-no-coda 3.13 with these settings:
Code: [Select]
-v 3 -vb 128 320 -q 0 -m j

The original wav file's length (in samples) was 9315684 samples. When I corrected the mp3 file I used these settings:
Code: [Select]
Encoder delay: 576
Padding: 9315684
Rebuild entire stream: ticked

Fb2k gave me these values when I checked the file after correction:
Code: [Select]
enc_delay = 576
enc_padding = 529
mp3_accurate_length = yes
9316271 samples @ 44100Hz

The length in samples is incorrect. I tried the exactly same thing with fb2k 0.8.3 and it worked correctly. I also tried the correction with the "Rebuild entire stream" unticked and file information was exactly the same. I also tried the same thing with Lame encoded file. I used Lame 3.96.1 and these settings:
Code: [Select]
--alt-preset standard --clipdetect -t

I used same settings as in GOGO-no-coda, "Rebuild entire stream" ticked and unticked. Also the "encoder delay" and "padding" was the same. First I tried the correction with "Rebuild entire stream" ticked and the fb2k gave me these values:
Code: [Select]
enc_delay = 576
enc_padding = 529
mp3_accurate_length = yes
9317423 samples @ 44100Hz

I also tried the correction with "Rebuild entire stream" unticked and fb2k gave me these values:
Code: [Select]
enc_delay = 576
enc_padding = 529
mp3_accurate_length = yes
9317423 samples @ 44100Hz

The length in samples is also incorrect. I didn't try the correction in Lame encoded files with fb2k 0.8.3. Also in all cases there were this warning message in console: "WARNING : mp3 header fix: padding value too small".

I have 5.1 speakers, and when I play back joint-stereo MP3s, the sound gets copied to all 4 channels... when I play back stereo MP3s, the left channel comes only over the front left channel, and the right channel comes only over the front right channel. Is this a desired feature? It's a bit irritating, because when listening to stereo content, suddenly, I'll be sitting in the middle of the sound field, and then it'll flip to just to the front channels. I hope this hasn't been asked before; I ran a quick search on the forums, and didn't really turn up anything.

Actually, this happens almost always when doing an album replaygain scan for me nowadays rendering it almost unusable :/. They are all mp3s I should add.
