CUETools: What’s confidence 1? Is it my previous rip? How do I repair?

Years ago I had previously been ripping all of my old CD collection to mp3, and with the increase in storage space in recent years I decided I wanted proper FLAC rips.  So I reripped all my CDs with EAC, except for the ones that had issues from being stored in a CD binder for many years.  I have recently been ripping the ones with issues using Cue Ripper, because it seems to make a rip for use with CueTools, and I had hoped to be able to repair them.  I guess I don't understand what it is trying to tell me.  Here are the 6 I've ripped so far.

Various Artists - The Beavis and Butt-Head Experience.cue: verified OK, confidence 1.
Beck - Mellow Gold.cue: verified OK, confidence 1.
Blind Melon\1992 - Blind Melon\Blind Melon - Blind Melon.cue: verified OK, confidence 1.
Don Henley - Actual Miles_ Henley's Greatest Hits.cue: differs in 922 samples, confidence 24, or verified OK, confidence 1.
Sammy Hagar\1994 - Unboxed\Sammy Hagar - Unboxed.cue: verified OK, confidence 1.
1977 - Saturday Night Fever\Various Artists - Saturday Night Fever.cue: verified OK, confidence 1.

As you can see, most of them say they verify ok, with a confidence of 1.  I assume this is wrong and the confidence of 1 is my own rip that for some reason CueRipper said it was submitting?  I don't like submitting bad rips obviously, but I didn't see anywhere in the options to turn it off.

Here are the logs for one of the rips.

Is there anything I am doing wrong, or am I just not understanding how CueTools works?  Obvioulsy I would like to repair these, however if it is not possible I understand, and I am more concerned with it telling me that the rip is ok.

CUETools: What’s confidence 1? Is it my previous rip? How do I repair?

- You don't have to use CUERipper to use CUETools. CUETools works fine on EAC rips.
- It looks like you might be getting a little confused between CTDB (CUETools DataBase) and AR (AccurateRip DataBase) confidence levels. Did you look at the CUETools log page?
- You should not repair if the CTDB confidence is less than 2. (higher would be better).
- CUERipper submits all rips. The server is supposed to filter out the bad ones.
- Your list of results seem incomplete. There should be AR: results and CTDB: results.
- If this list is from the CUETools log window, single-line results means you are verifying in a batch mode. Please note that the repair script should not be used in batch modes.
The Don Henley rip does need repair or re-rip. I'll help with the repair if you need it. I'll be writing a guide for the wiki soon.

1.  Yeah I figured that, but as long as it produces good results, why not?  It seems to operate under the same principles as EAC, secure mode, verification, etc.  I never made cue sheets when I did it before before, so I figured I'd redo the rips anyway.
2.  I guess I was confused, so I read that page.  I didn't really tell me why I was getting a confidence of 1 though, that was the result directly from the CueTools batch log window.
3.  Noted.
4.  Fair enough, as long as the server knows what it is doing I am ok with it submitting.
5.  I provided both logs for one of the items on the list I posted.  One had a .txt extension, one had a .accurip extension.  The first single line I posted was when I ran a "repair" with CueTools, see the screenshot here.  Am I missing something else?
6.  Looks like this may be the case, but I seem to be missing where to turn off batch mode.

Thanks for the help, and yes, I would like to be able to repair any rips that I possibly can.  Thanks.

The repair (doing this quick so I hope I don't miss anything)
See CUETools Settings if you get lost. I did explain batch modes a little there.

Input: Folder Browser
Expand Henley folder and select the CUE file. (this is a single-disc mode instead of batch)
Output: your choice
Action: Encode {script} repair (from dropbox)
Mode: same as CUERipper
Audio Output: same as CUERipper
Extra: leave everything zero

Go

The metadata window will popup
Select CUE (CUE file), pencil (local database), blue tag (audio file meta tags), or you can make a new database selection.

CUETools will verify rip.

A selection window will popup.
Select the one that differs in 922 samples.

The repair will continue

Your list of results seem incomplete. There should be AR: results and CTDB: results. Assuming the confidence of 1 is the CTDB result, the CTDB was just upgraded and is newer than the AR database.

Drag'n'drop mode is a batch mode. Popup windows are disabled in batch modes.

It looks like the majority of my problem was me running CueTools in a batch mode, I was using drag and drop.  Using the other methods, I was able to repair several rips!  Thanks a bunch.

Quick question, I assume if it can't repair it, it won't do anything?  Sometimes my rips just say they can't be verified as accurate without listing the number of different samples or anything.  Does that mean insufficient data?    In theory, if that's what is going on, should I save these rips and try to verify them a few months down the road, will more data be available to fix them?

Yes, if a rip doesn't need to be repaired or it can't be repaired the script will abort.
If the CTDB finds an entry but just shows 'No Match' then too many samples differ for a repair.
New entries are submitted every day so there is chance it will match later entries.
[EDIT: entry; entries]

New submissions of the same rip, won't help? Or does CTDB increase redundancy with number of submissions?

CUETools Database Plugin for EAC
Known Issues
CTDB accepts the recovery record portion of a submission when the plugin reports the rip quality as 100%, but since EAC doesn't yet report suspicious positions to the plugin, the quality may be reported to CTDB as 100% when it is actually less than that. This causes CTDB to wrongly accept a recovery record which could be used to "repair" future rips to match the bad rip

Unfortunately some of the confidence 1 entries could be from bad rips or could show as No Match. New and correct rips submitted later might be used for repair.

What about the situation where a repair can be made with a confidence of 1 but the resulting repair matches the AccurateRip data with a high confidence?  Would this be considered a safe repair to make?

Of course. Just don't want you (or others reading) to assume all confidence 1 entries are good. You can usually tell after looking over the CUETools log (file *.accurip) and comparing that to your rip log. For example, you probably don't want to use an entry that shows track 4 and track 8 needs repair when the AR results and rip log both show track 4 has problems but track 8 is good.
