Does that affect only tab names containing an ampersand ("&")? Which Windows version do you use?

I have the same problem with the "&" in tab names.

I use Windows 7.

I use Windows 7, too. I don't know if there are other characters causing this. It seems with just alphanumerics there is no bug. If it matters, font is Tahoma.

Can confirm that, I am also Using Win7.

If you type short names (3 letters) the text gets left-aligned.
