Channel descriptor error in flac file (how to fix?)

I have a SACD which is 5.0 FL FR FC BL BR channels.

The original source material is really 3.0 FL FC FR

Upon extraction of flac files PS3 --> SACD ISO --> foobar200 --> flac

I get

Channels 5: FL FR FC BL BR (as viewed in foobar2000 properties info)

The BL and BR are empty.

I can remove the two rear channels using either Audacity or SoX.

But then I get:

3: FL FR FC BL BR

The number of channels is correct but the descriptor is wrong.

Any way to remove the BL and BR?

Must be in the flac header somewhere but not an actual tag that most tag editors can touch.

Nevermind.  Found way to delete unneeded channels in foobar which removes the channel descriptors also.
