dB Meter for Monitor Setup

Hi all,

I've got a pair of M-Audio BX-5s monitors. They have a "non-stepped" volume control and the markings make it impossible to accurately set the volume so both units are identical.

I need to get them as closely matched as possible.

I saw a YouTube video talking about C-Weighted and Slow Response and it also recommended Pink Noise over a tone and presumably over white noise.  Any thoughts on all this?

I was thinking of picking up something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tacklife-Decibel-Portable-Accuracy-Included/dp/B01I2KSVKA/

I've got a pretty crappy smart phone (Moto G) so not sure about the app route.

Any advice?

Thanks,
C.

An app should work since you don't need accuracy, you just need repeatability.
