CUETools versions 1.9.5 through 2.1.5 (current)

Hi Gregory,

while testing enhanced data track rips I found the following minor issue.

With 1.9.3u1, if you specify a data track length it doesn't add the REM DATATRACKLENGTH tag to the cue file. I know that it uses the log file as default to get the data track length, and even if you had to input manually, the discID gets cached so further AR queries resolve correctly, BUT, I think that the DATATRACKLENGTH should be added anyway, for the following reasons:

1) correct me if i'm wrong, but CUETools can't pick up the data length from previous versions of EAC.

2) A user may change it's computer, thus loosing all the cached info. Then the rip won't verify unless the data track length is manually inputed. Please correct me on this, since I haven't spent much time figuring out how it works.

3) I believe that the CUE sheet is the logical place for all file related info to be. IMHO, if it's a disc attribute, it should live on the cue sheet.

Thanks for all the hard work !

N.

PS: please reconsider adding a file overwrite switch for batch jobs. It can even show a warning when the job starts, so that everybody knows its enabled.

ACCURATERIPDISCID is stored in file tags AND in the cue sheet. There's no cache on your computer other than that. I doesn't make much sense to store both DATATRACKLENGTH and ACCURATERIPDISCID, because only one of them would be used.

I think i'll add two options for batch jobs, 'overwrite existing files' and a more safe 'skip on errors' option.

I use this tool since Moitah released it and I would like to thank Gregory for his great approvements.

At now one thing to mention: I use custom format %0\cdimage.cue as naming scheme. If nesessary (by double CDs) I change it to cdimage1.cue or cdimage2.cue.

In CUE Tools 1.9.1 I could also change the name of the resulting WAV file, in recent version its name remains always cdimage.wav.

I think it would be better to have the resulting file (in case of single file+cue) named equal to cue file.

Another question is CUE Sheet Creator: when I click the button and select the folder with audio files nothing happens.

Options, controling the name of the resulting WAV file are now in 'advanced options'.
You can turn off the 'keep original filenames' option, and set 'single format' to %F,
and your wav files will have the same name as a CUE sheet.

CUE Sheet Creator only works if you have a directory with file-per-track image and no CUE sheet.
It doesn't work if you already have a CUE sheet there, or if you have a single file image.
Can you show me a contents of the directory where it doesn't work?

Thanks for this wonderful tool, Gregory, I use it very often

But I have a small (?) feature request. Would it be possible that the feature "input can be a directory with audio files and no cue sheet" also work in batch mode? I know that I can use the cuesheet creator, and it's ok when I check my files on hard drive... But when I want to check files previously written on dvd (and there's no cue sheet inside the directory) - that feature would be very usefull. For now it doesn't work in batch mode (or at least I don't know how to use it), when I select a directory in which there are audio files only, it says: "Exception: Input CUE Sheet not found"

CUETools versions 1.9.5 through 2.1.5 (current)

I too would appreciate a batch mode where you could simply input a root directory, then CUEtools would scan recursively all the subdirectories for (example) separate FLAC files without any cuesheets, and do all the AR verification and tag-writing on all the files in one single batch operation. Could this be possible ? Thanks.

Hi everyone. I receive an "Index was outside the bounds of bound of the array" exception when I try to convert tracks to CD Image.

I've used Cuesplit for a while now and came across a, imho, weird thing.
I encountered several albums in which the log says that all tracks were accurately ripped, but cuesplit says that disk is not in database.
The latest find is Van Morrison - Too Long In Exile where the XLD-log says it's accurately ripped ( confidence 10 on most files), but when I try Cuesplit it says Disk not present in database.
I also tried tripleflac with the same result (cd not found)
I found more albums but didn't notate which ones.

Another thing that I encountered is with p.e. Van Morrison - No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.
The EAC-log says accurately ripped (mostly confidence 6 (track 10 confidence 4)), but Cuetools says:

Is it possible cuetools doesn't find all submitted sets?

CDs are identified by the track lengths. Pregap and data track included. If you rip to separate tracks without a .cue sheet, this information is lost. If the CD had a pregap and/or data track, you won't find it in the database without a .cue sheet (or using dimmy .cue sheet, or using foobar2k-generated .cue sheet). Sometimes you will find a wrong set, e.g. if the disc was released in two versions - with and without data track. You rip a version with data track, and verify it without a .cue sheet, and your files look like the version without a data track. Or you rip a CD which has a pregap, and try verify it without a .cue sheet, your files look like a CD-R which someone made from such a rip, and then ripped it.

Would be great. If you have MS Visual studio, than you just download the source code from SVN, open the solution (CUETools\CUETools.sln), look for CUETools project in solution browser, there doubleclick on frmCUETools.cs, select the appropriate 'Language' in the Properties window, and start editing the dialog by selecting the dialog elements one by one with a mouse, and changing 'Text' in the Properties window, and immediately see how it will look like. Then send me a frmCUETools.de-DE.resx file.

If you don't have MS Visual studio, you can still do this even with notepad, but that would be more painstalking process.
1) Download http://cuetoolsnet.svn.sourceforge.net/vie...rmCUETools.resx
2) Open it with notepad (or OpenOffice or some other editor that understands UTF8 encoding).
3) For each <data name="*.Text"> and <data name="*.ToolTip"> section translate the text between <value> and </value>.
4) Send me the result.

If this doesn't kill you, you can also do the same with http://cuetoolsnet.svn.sourceforge.net/vie...rmSettings.resx

Thanks! That makes it clear, I thought I was going slightly mad

I keep getting the following error:

"Exception: Indexes must be in chronological order."

When I try to convert a wav/cuesheet I created from EAC. All the indexes look to be in order to me (I never touched the sheet), any idea what's going on? I've attached the cuesheet for this particular cd.

Look here:
  TRACK 10 AUDIO
   TITLE "Left Hand Shake (missing)"
   PERFORMER "Skinny Puppy"
   INDEX 00 41:56:42
   INDEX 01 41:56:45
  TRACK 11 AUDIO
   TITLE "Download"
   PERFORMER "Skinny Puppy"
   INDEX 00 41:56:41
   INDEX 01 41:56:50

Track 10 and 11 ... it's impossible! Try to change the Gap/Index retrieval method.

Crazy!! That's a strange one, will do.

With a track of only 5 frames, it's not surprising that detecting gaps would yield a problem.

If changing the method and/or accuracy doesn't help, just remove the 00 index from track 11.

What would it take to make the flac plugin work under mono? I have attempted to familiarize myself with the issues, but I just do not have sufficient knowledge of .NET programming. I really want this to be fully functional on linux, and am inspired to help figure out how to make it happen, but am not sure where to start...

I have perused:
http://www.mono-project.com/Guide:_Porting...ms_Applications
but the anylizer claims that only UnRarDotNet.dll HDCDDotNet.dll are problematic, but I dont need those.

actually, I just tried a trial run, and the errors are about HDCD, not flac.
maybe just necessary to not load HDCD support if it is not needed? I only have 1 hdcd...

Think I got 1.9.1 to compile in  monodevelop a few weeks ago,
but it does not have the features I want, and the svn version has too much new stuff I cant figure out how to disable... cant find src for current ver.

Flac support doesn't work on MONO, this has been tested on a version that didn't have hdcd or unrar support. The problem is, flac module is not a pure .NET module, it contains pure C libFLAC library, and MONO doesn't like these. So what we need is a C# libFLAC port.

Gregory, would it be hard to squeeze in a EAC-compatible CRC (with use of null samples) check into the AR check process chain, so that the CUE Tools log would show the plus-null-sample CRCs for all found offsets? That would make it easy comparing the audio data to an old EAC log that only has the CRC and no AR results possible instead of running a check on that old rip's audio.

I'll try. If somebody knows which algorithm is used for EAC CRCs, that would help a lot.

If you're looking for an example implementation, there's an open source tool around... wavcrc32

http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....st&p=514929

It should also be useful when testing and debugging the CRC32 check in CUE Tools.

I do like Cue Tools a lot and I've got a small feature request:
I was wondering if it would be possible to add a CD-Text Corrector to the program - something similar to the Filename Corrector, that does correct the entries for CD TITLE, CD PERFORMER, Track TITLE and Track PERFORMER.
The FreeDB data can be used to fill this info in EAC and there can be errors / typos in that.
I do correct these errors and have the correct information in my APE tags and also in file and folder names.

Would it be possible to add a function that uses the Tags to correct (or fill if missing) these entries in the cue sheet?
