EAC suddenly not working

I have been using Exact Audio Copy for years, without trouble.  I am currently using Windows 10 Pro 64 and EVGA Nu Audio software with that soundcard.  Suddenly (after being trouble-free a week or so ago), EAC crashes every time I ask it to copy an image or even just change a destination directory.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling (goes fine, and the program detects the CD drive and configures, etc.) and also have tried switching to a downloaded Adaptec ASPI interface.

The only interim changes or possibly significant events with my setup were a possible Windows update, an Aomei scheduled backup, and a switch from MediaPortal 1 to MediaPortal 2.'

Anyone have any ideas?  I can't find anything useful on the EAC site.  There is something about possible command-line changes, but I'm very unclear as to how to implement.

Thanks much, N.

No "Access Violation" or "Unhandled exception" messages?

This is old but one or two useful tips (registry, encoder). You should not need ASPI on Windows 10.

Another old one. You can probably skip 1, 2, & 3. Read 4, 5, & 6. rclone also conflicts with EAC

%APPDATA%\EAC\CDDB.SDF (C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Roaming\EAC\CDDB.SDF)
when damaged is known to cause EAC to crash (usually at startup). Delete or rename.
