Flac and file attributes

I had this idea of setting the file attributes on my Flac files to read only so that way there will be less chance of viruses getting to them. Setting the attribute to read only isn't going to mess up my Flac files in any way, right? This is probably a stupid question but I am real protective over my Flac collection and want to make sure.

Thanks,

You are quite safe.

Edit (elaborating):

No, you cant harm your FLACs by making them read-only (+r). If anything, you'll guard against accidental deletion.

I don't belive it's any protection agains virii or anything of that sort.
