 10   | (215/300) Accurately ripped, or (70/300) differs in 1 samples @04:21:68

The AccurateRIP is showing no errors occurred but the CUETools Plugin is show lines like this for tracks 2, 4, 7 and 10:

  7  | (291/300) Accurately ripped, or (2/300) differs in 23 samples @02:25:43-02:25:44

Does this mean I have a bad rip or or are there bad sections at those times or is it comparing my rip to and bad entry in the database?

I'm just concerned in case my CDs are bad or my set up/PC is bad. The rips sounds okay to me at those times.

Thank you for your help

Of the checksums for 300 rips of track 7 in the CUETools database, 291 match your copy exactly. You probably have the same pressing as those people, and all those rips are probably error-free.

2 of the 300 rips have differences in 23 samples, as compared to yours. Were those correct rips for slightly different pressings than what most people have, or were they just the result of a consistent error, perhaps reported by one person via 2 different rippers (e.g. CUERipper and EAC)? Who knows.

On the last track, 70 of 300 have a rip with a different value in one sample. Looks like a different pressing. So there are different pressings with slight differences...

But yeah nothing is wrong with your CDs or your PC. You have "Accurately ripped" on all tracks, with high confidence.

Thank you mjb2006. That's made me feel a bit better. So basically as long as I have got "Accurately Ripped" before the "or differs" and a confidence of more than 2 or 3 then I am okay?

Pretty much. A confidence of 1 is usually enough, though. 2 or more is better.

Understand that no one can really know with 100% certainty that a rip is accurate. You are just comparing your rips to other rips of that same pressing, and seeing many match and don't match. CTDB's "or differs" message implies another category: how many almost match.

The more rips in the databases, the more comparisons that can be made, and the greater confidence in the result. You could be the first person to rip it and there would be nothing to compare to, so instead of being "accurately" ripped, it may be "no match", i.e. confidence zero, even though the rip may be perfect. Or you could rip something with different drives or rippers and get a slightly different audio each time, but with no problems detected, so each of those results could end up in the databases (at least for a while), thus each would show up as an "or differs" with confidence 1.

http://cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools_log is for CUETools but may be of some help in interpreting the CUETools DB plugin portion of your logs.

Thank you for your help.

I am probably going to convert my FLAC files to MP3 when I am finished so I can listen to them in the car so I'll be able to hear if there are any audible errors on any of the files. As long as there are no noticeable errors then I'll be relatively happy.

Thanks again!!!
