I'm on the latest stable version and Freedb is still the logo shown / database it is trying to submit to.

You cannot submit metadata directly to the CTDB.
https://freedb.org/ now resolves to https://gnudb.org/
CUETools/CUERipper was updated to use gnudb.org instead of freedb.org for submitting to freedb https://github.com/gchudov/cuetools.net/pull/78
However, I haven't seen anything that shows the CTDB is storing metadata from gnudb.org at this time.
