foobar2000 remote app with special controls

Hello guys,

i'm looking for a special (android or IOS) remote app to control foobar on my PC. I've tried already many different ones (Foobar Con Pro being the best one), but i still couldn't find the one that would allow me to browse my library acording to the content of the REM COMMENT field. Indeed i would like to use it to go through my music library (cue sheets) according to the media quality (24bits, SACD, DVDA, etc...). Technically that should not be to hard to do (for a specialist) as non metadata fields (REM GENRE) are already widely used for library browsing.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me with that one.

Have a nice day ;)

Did you try http://foobar2000controller.blogspot.de/ ?

It comes with extensive metadata support and its search function is supposed to query the whole media library.

If that doesn't work directly, you could setup foobar to generate automatic playlists that cover your wanted criterias and then access those playlists with this remote control.

I'm at work now, so I cannot test this for myself, but I'll try later and come back at you.

Cheers,
Maggi

Foobar2000 maps  REM COMMENT field  to %comment% for cue sheets that are in your library , as REM GENRE is also mapped to %genre%.

In Foobarcon Pro Library search you can create your own Custom query (long tap to edit) with any titleformat (up to 3) .

Thanks for your replies guys  ;)
@zeremy
You made my day. This is exactely what i wanted.  ;)  ;)

As i started to edit the cue sheets to add the REM COMMENT field, i realised that i unfortenately have many cuesheet with undesired COMMENTs.

So, would you guys know a way to massively delete those unwanted comments without having to open each of the cuesheets and edit them manually ?

In my example, i would like to keep only the "24Bits" tag.

Cheers

Hi mrnike.

I just tried and entered "ExactAudioCopy" into the search field of fooconpro and it works as well as setting up an auto-playlist with %comment% HAS ExactAudioCopy on my PC.

The former results in a playlist labelled "Query", while the latter was named "new playlist", which obviuosly can be renamed.

Both can be accessed from fooconpro, so maybe there's no need to edit your existing comment fields, if you just enter 24Bits into fooconpro's search field or setup an auto-playlist on your PC accordingly.

Thanks Maagi ;)
I managed to create a playlist on foobarcon and it works quite well, but unfortunately the results are not groupped. Do you know if there a way of grouping them in one folder per item ? viz. Artist ->Albums->Songs.

Cheers

I guess, you mean how to group it on your android device, but I have no idea how to do that.
Probably the developer has to add that option in its app.

The only thing that'd come close to what you want, is using your browser on your mobile device to access your foobar2000 hosting PC and use for example the ajquery template.

You'll find the latest foo_httpcontrol.dll and that template here:
https://bitbucket.org/oblikoamorale/foo_httpcontrol/downloads

Just extract the ajquery template right next to where you have your "default" and "foobar2000controller" templates (in my case it's "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\foobar2000\foo_httpcontrol_data").
Then you'd have to enter your PC's IP, followed by :8888 (eg. http://192.168.1.2:8888/) in a browser and click on ajquery.

That template groups a given playlist at least into albums and maybe you could use that as a starting point for either trying to modify the "default" template that is used by the foobar2000 controller android app or trying to modify the ajquery template to group your playlists according to your needs.

You might want to have a look at other existing templates, right next door:

You can add %artist% and %album% in the query I mentioned previously.
So you will get first level %comment% , 2nd level %artist% , 3rd level %album% and last %title%.
