How's the support for 0.9.2 plugins? I want to upgrade but don't want to lose functionality.

Don't be afraid, there's no problem.
Unless you're using unofficial foo_playcount, which seems to have problems (see previous posts).

If the version I have is unofficial, I can live without it.  Thanks.

The rescanning the media library issue must be with mp3/ogg only.  When I rescan roughly 45000 flac and wavpack files it takes just as long as it did in 0.9.2.  Quite happy I can now use the player when rescanning.
Peter has confirmed that there have been changes in MP3 subsong detection which can affect the scanning speed.

Foosion, I have a suggestion for the properties window, I hope this is possible. Very often (this is especially in classical music) we have to add the same values, for example for the composer, conductor or ensemble.

It would be helpful if the field values had a history dropdown to the right with the same options ("wipe history", "delete history item") as in the rest of foobar.

Ideally we could userdefine in the advanced options, which fields get a dropdown (and all others don't).

That would be an extremely welcome improvement - a great timesaver feature.

I transcoded some files into Vorbis to play in my iPaq. There were 4 transcoding sessions open (i.e. those progress bar dialog boxes) as I was transcoding from 4 different albums to 4 different directories (1 dir per album).

With older foobar (0.9.2) it worked. With latest foobar, none of the transcoded file can play in my iPaq.

Of course I found this out in my way to office, and since I have no foobar here on my office PC I can't test. I can't even say that it's foobar's fault. Can someone else check this out too?

A full cross-session history may not even be necessary - just keep the history in RAM only, so that it gets dropped when closing foobar. Should keep the history clean, makes a "wipe-history"-button unnecessary and should be enough to suffice in most cases.
I am arrogant and I can afford it because I deliver.

IBTD. Especially in classical music we have permanently used stereotype values, where cross-session would be a benefit: "Herbert von Karajan", "Günther Wand", "Chicago Symphony Orchestra", "Berliner Philharmoniker"... Or a greatly appreciated history field, which anybody was used to, should be in the genre tag...

In music other than classical, I don't see that much need at all. There may not even be need for session only history.

I think: full implementation or no implementation.

On the other side I see the problem of messing the cfg file with typed history entries... Maybe one day we'll have a way to delete all histories and mru at once...

I've also found a bug with foo_lyrics. Causes a huge crash and gets in the way of my camp kareoke attempts

Cannot replicate here, transcoding from LAME mp3s. (4 CDs, 4 dirs, 4 transcoding sessions running simultaneously). The ogg files play fine.

The new Properties dialog is great. Now all we need is a Columns UI panel version of it.

Thanks again for the great app, guys!

Yes.

However, it's always wise to make a backup before upgrading. I make a copy of my foobar folder so that restoring the old version is just a matter of renaming folders.
That's so plausible, I can't believe it.

Since the properties dialog is being overhauled I'd like to throw in a suggestion. I would like to see the "MP3 Tag Types" dialog integrated into the file properties dialog. I find it awkward to switch between the two when cleaning up tags. I also think it would be nice to see each tag (ID3v1 vs. ID3v2 vs. APE) on a separate page/tab/column/etc because I have often run accross mp3's with different info on each tag.  I also very much miss the filename and path being displayed accross the top of the dialog. I have tried to add it to the titlebar using advanced preferences but windows clips the titlebar text on longer pathnames.

There also appears to be a bug with foo_infobox under 0.9.3b1. All of foobar crashes if foobar changes the track while editing the tag oon another track. This does not happen with 0.9.2 but I will need to look into it a bit further and do a proper bug report on foo_infobox thread if the problem persists after 0.9.3 final.

I've the same problem like described by ARiel G. in his post:

First the warning appears and after closing that box the Rumtime Error is shown. Sometimes only the warning opens. Could that be because of the not working, unnofficial playcount?

Another suggestion:
make the current volume (not the slider, but the db entry in the status bar) available in the toolbar

Yes. Remove playcount unofficial dll and the errors go away. Anyway, it went away for me.

I got that error, but I'm not going to sacrifice playcount as my fcs depends on it.

Yeah, same here. Wonder what has to be changed. Is it some mistake in the new beta that will be fixed or has the author of the unofficial playcount to fix this problem? Anyways, i hope it will be done soon

Nice 'Copy Info Between Files'

Would be nicer if the 'source' and 'destination' could be easily swapped, without actually modifying their playlist position (what if it's an readonly/autoplaylist)

Sorry, I found Confirmation in Recycle

Could you please clarify what you mean by this? Do you mean you turned off an option within foobar2000, or that you disabled the recycle bin altogether (so that everything you delete is automatically permanently deleted)?

Thank you for this nice update. Would it be possible for the dialog boxes to remember their positions?

I know this has been asked quite a few times now, but as far as I know, there has never been a definite "no". Can we possibly have the "set volume to {0, -3, -6, -9, -12, -15, -18, -21}dB" commands (so they can be bound to keyboard shortcuts) back? Thanks for another great foobar version.
