John33 sent me a fresh compile of Flac 1.0.3 pre-release, not available yet anywhere else, it seems.
But already "bumped" to version 1.0.3 in the CVS:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/flac/flac/ (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/flac/flac/)
The file is available at my site, Lossless section:
http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/ (http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/)
It has been reported that FLAC -> MPC transcode now works under Windows.
BTW, anyone aware of the changelog?
Not included with the source distribution?

nice one
josh (the main flac developer) told me that the FLAC>mpc transcode bug was fixed in the CVS, but i haven't tried that out yet.
i don't know about anything else: compression seems to be the same, on a first look.
cheers, tonderai
I couldn't find it in the CVS.
Maybe I'm getting blind... ???
Confirmed - the FLAC>mpc transcode now works under windows. Woohoo!

First, rja, please don't call it FLAC 1.0.3! It is not finished (I'm still finishing up unit tests for the new stuff) and will likely be different (i.e. fixed bugs and better plugin) by the time of the real release in next couple of weeks.
Call it "flac CVS (1.0.3 prerelease)" or something and make sure you have a warning that there could be bugs in it.
Also, yes, the windows pipes should be fixed and yes, the compression is the same. I didn't mess with the engine except to speed up the decoder.

Done.

are any bugs likely to affect the integrity of the lossless compression, without being picked up by 'verify'? if this is possible i'll wait with pleasure for the 'real' release ... otherwise, nice one josh
cheers, tonderai
