Isn't freedb shut down?

If freedb was shut down last summer, how did it recognize a disc that was published just last month? Is it back in business—can users submit updates again? If by some miracle this is the case, does anyone have the address to plug into EAC?

Thanks!

Ah ha . . . . Can users add or modify the content of this gnudb?

Is there a web address I should add to EAC, to replace what I have for freedb?

Thanks!

It is now possible to post updates to gnudb.gnudb.org via mail and cgi script.
Set your favorite cddb aware program to submit via:
gnudb.gnudb.org/~cddb/submit.cgi
or via mail to:
submit@gnudb.org

Today I released version 1.6 of EAC. After freedb was closed down, EAC needed a replacement for the standard metadata provider. Therefore gnudb.org was implemented as a replacement.
This is referring to EAC's Built-in freedb engine in version 1.6
