EAC & Lame Command-Line

Hi,

I'm having difficulties getting the command line options to work which used to work previously.
%islow%-V0%islow%%ishigh%-V0%ishigh% %source% %dest%

Apparently, the test encoder button return a 'excess arg %dest%'. Any kind souls able to rectify the issue?

Thanks!

Pretty sure current version of EAC no longer needs the %dest% placeholder.  Anyway, that's what the error message is telling you.  Try it without.

Also, your %islow% and %ishigh% placeholders have the same value which isn't really a problem but defeats the purpose.  Typically the %islow% is set to a lower bitrate such as -V4.

Thanks for the reply Apesbrain..

So what is the recommended settings in your opinion? Apparently removing the %dest% return an error 'excess arg etmp)!58).wav
whereas removing both the %source% & %dest% returned the following 'excess arg etmp58-!).mp3

Thanks!

With latest version of EAC settings below work fine for me:

"-b 320" means constant bit rate at 320kbps.  You can also use variable bit rate such as "-V 0".  Lots of resources online for this.

However, if I were taking the time to rip my CDs I'd rip them to a lossless format: FLAC or ALAC.  I'd then have an archive that I could convert in the future to MP3, AAC or any other format as needed.
