sansa clip+ freezes while playing flac

While playing flac files my sansa clip+ freezes. Then I need to restart it by holding power button for 30 secs. Has anyone experienced this? How to fix this?

I am using Sansa's base build with upgraded firmware and its not rockboxed yet. I am trying to play 16 bit flac which was initially ripped using Freerip to 24 bit which I recently converted to 16 bit using foobar2000. Please help.

I am just worried that my clip will get bricked as did my previous one while trying to play 24 bit flacs.

The Sandisk firmware's flac support is a little buggy.  I think album art, 24 bit files, or generally weird tags will break decoding.
