Support - (fb2k) / Re: Replaygain for Onkyo TX-NR818 Receiver
Last post by Chibisteven -According to Onkyo, my Onkyo TX-NR818 Receiver does not support Replaygain tags. Will Foobar2000 or Foobar2000 with an taddon allow me to take advantage of the Replaygain Tags even if my Receiver does not support it?
Connect your PC up to your receiver. foobar2000 will handle all the ReplayGain tag reading. It's not relevant whether or not a receiver supports something if it's connected to your PC as long your receiver supports uncompressed LPCM over HDMI your PC will simply decode it and send it down the pipe.

Other Lossy Codecs / Re: SACD to lossy vs. CD to lossy: do sample rate and bit depth matter?
Last post by Octocontrabass -Also, DC in audio? A continuous voltage? That isn't even audio anymore, why did the MP3 format allow that?MP3 frames are pretty short. They're short enough that you can encode a low-frequency (but still audible) signal and some frames will be indistinguishable from DC.

General Audio / AI language models can exceed PNG and FLAC in lossless compression, says study
Last post by 2tec -Quote
In an arXiv research paper titled "Language Modeling Is Compression," researchers detail their discovery that the DeepMind large language model (LLM) called Chinchilla 70B can perform lossless compression on image patches from the ImageNet image database to 43.4 percent of their original size, beating the PNG algorithm, which compressed the same data to 58.5 percent. For audio, Chinchilla compressed samples from the LibriSpeech audio data set to just 16.4 percent of their raw size, outdoing FLAC compression at 30.3 percent.~ https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2023/09/ai-language-models-can-exceed-png-and-flac-in-lossless-compression-says-study/

3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: JScript Panel script discussion/help
Last post by Cosmik Vek -I am using the panel pre-configured with the "Text Display" sample
and I have not touched anything in the JS code,
but I have tweaked some of the options from the context menu to display the custom text that I want
and to also display the album cover as the background.
But, something that I really want but can't seem to get working is just trying to add a simple blur to this album cover BG.
I have tried coding this myself and other snippets I have found from here produced JS errors.
So, it would be of great help to know how I can make it all work!
I have the latest version of both FB2K (2.0 / 32 bits) and the JScript 3.0 panel.
Thanks in advance for any help!

3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: foo_enhanced_spectrum_analyzer
Last post by TF3RDL -How about a spectrogram display in-addition to spectrum display like showcqt visualization?I meant something like this:
BTW, I made the spectrum analyzer similar to Crossover's component and it features linear amplitude scale, which is useful for easily visualizing peaks
where spectrum is at top and spectrogram is at bottom, scrolling from top to bottom just like this FFmpeg filter mentioned before
