The last update was a really long time ago, but finally here comes a new version of EAC.
There are no larger new features, but bug fixes mainly regarding drive detection and problems on installing the .NET plugins made it necessary to release this service update.
Also I updated the freedb++ plugin, so that it again finds more covers to choose from. This plugin will be released as public domain shortly (I always wanted to do that, but I always wanted to comment the whole code first – I gave up on that…)
Finally I updated several included external components, like CTDB and Flac.
Hopefully everything works right out of the box, as there aren’t that much changes in it anyway.

Is this still compatible with Windows XP? Can't find any info on the specs via EAC's website.

Oh thank you! I actually just fired up HA to see if anyone else has been having EAC misbehaviour lately, and boom! New version.

Seems to be working much better now. Not sure why it starting freezing / crashing recently though. A .NET update?

The installation quits on machines running earlier than XP. As for the .NET update, I can not comment.

I am pleased to see another release of this program. There is much overdue thanks I have for Andre sharing the fruits of audio CD extraction program and enlightening people like me to understand how it works.

I tried to download the latest EAC software from both the EAC website as well as from some alternate websites and my Malwarebytes and Kaspersky Security software went berserk with malware threat notices, malicious software tags, and virus warnings. I continued to try downloading the newest EAC version - 7.3 I think - and never made it through one untainted attrempt. I have since switched to CUEripper and will probably use that for now, but I am highly disappointed with the failure of the EAC software. Does anyone have experience with this problem ? The EAC came highly recommended from a friend at Discogs, but I really had so much difficulty with it, I'd be reluctant to try it again. I have close to 11,000 CD's of Trance, Ambient, House, & Jazz and want to start saving everything on a couple of G-Technology G RAID 8TB Dual Thunderbolt Ports. In the meantime, I've have started to swap files with others in order to get some things that I want, but everyone wants FLAC, WAV, or AIFF, so I had to find some new software that supports EVERYTHING out there........anyway, any info from anybody regarding EAC and my difficulties ? Any help, advice, or comment would be greatly appreciated.......Thanks.....

No virus whatsoever when downloading the file from EAC's site:

Try the official link to download and check the wiki in order to set up the program:

Thank you Iceberg. I'll try downloading from their website again, although that was one of the places that I had originally gone to. I'm not sure what's up, but my Kaspersky and my Malwarebytes both came up clean after full scans, so I'm sticking with the theory that the malware is coming in with the downloads.

EAC's website used to have a history of being hacked and filled with ads for "drugs" (literal drugs).
I don't visit their website anymore.

VideoHelp is a mirror, hosting its own binaries.

MajorGeeks also hosts their own binaries on their own server (more ads than VideoHelp, though).

I would recommend also using Malwarebyte's "Anti-Exploit".
Separate Malwarebyte's program/install (not part of Anti-Malware).
There's a free verison that works well; and, also a trial-verison/paid-version.
I like to use "HD audio" in PaulStretch. "HD audio", lol.

Maybe you should try again. They recently changed to a new hosting service.

I'm facing a similar issue with my Sonicwall gateway which louds: "This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Anti-Spyware Service. Name: Yabector.B_4 Installer (Trojan)"
Tried all the sites from the official web site and VideoHelp, MajorGeek too; all the same.
Sounds weird!
