Artificial Intelligence (large language model) [split - TOS 5]

LLM's need large amounts of clean data during the training process. The big companies that we know the name of have obtained and used much of this data without permission and illegally. And they are still using it. Of course, the companies that provide them with this data are as guilty as they are. And this is unsustainable.

But the results obtained with AI are always hallucinatory. And there's no solution to that because that's the way they work. That's why they are not suitable for professional work. They can only make amateurs happy. And of course the horrible energy it takes to do all this is of no interest to anyone for now.

I'm not taking sides, but honestly, having till very recently been part of an LLM training team for a leading AI data solutions contractor, and witnessed the significant progress made with that particular LLM over the past year, as well as the truckloads of money shed by the  leading bit tech behind it, I feel compelled to believe most of those common objections seem more like a matter of when they'll stop being issues rather than if they ever will.

I work with ChatGPT.  ChatGPT doesn't understand but it can generate well formed, concise, comprehensive and clear text. I can write faster, and type less, because ChatGPT does the menial stuff which allows me to focus on the details of documentation.

Current AI isn't about the pushing the leading edge of creative work, it's about automating the repetitive pattern based stuff, so people don't need to.

The usefulness of tools is dependent upon how they are used.

I completely agree. Artificial intelligence is designed to make life easier and automate work, not to degrade and replace natural talent with the result of digital activities. Every day, this technology will take over more and more industries. There may be no place for people, because they will be useless, as this machine can write lyrics to a song, make music, take photos, edit videos, and so on faster and better.

My point is that AI as it is now, cannot replace people yet as it needs both guidance and oversight. AI cannot replace me yet.

There is already no place for people but it's not because of AI, it's because of classism. When 85% of all capital is being hoarded by the upper class, that only leaves 15% of all capital for the rest of us. AI or not, most people are now relatively poor and powerless. The problem isn't AI and robotics, it's that the AIs and robots will be owned and controlled by and irresponsible, selfish and greedy upper class who will use them to corrupt further our economies and continue to exploit everyone.

This is not politics. This is both economics and technology. Technology does not exist in isolation of economics. I stand by my point that AI isn't our real problem, classism is; that's entirely within the realm of sociology.

Notwithstanding, this has no place on an Audio forum. Take it elsewhere! Classism is all, about politics, economics is simply an excuse.
