how can I get start develop foobar

I have been used Foobar for several years, and i'm now intreasted in developing foobar. I know c++, I download the SDK , and find the tutorial, but there is little content in the tutorial. How can I start, just read the code in the SDK folder? I'm a Chinese student, my English is not good.

What always does it for me is finding something open source that's similar to what I want to do.  There are a decent amount of open source foobar plugins (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....;hl=open+source and http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....;hl=open+source and http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....;hl=open+source to name a few).  Download those, browse their source code, and that ought to get you off to a great start.

That's too bad. I don't have any plan now. I'm now just interest in finding things behind the Foobar and try to think out what I can do.

There has plenty of things that haven't been done as components:

* Extra DSP effects
* Support for more audio formats like V2M
* More native visualizations
* Integration with more social networking services like Facebook
* Skinned/3D GUIs
* More commandline support

Really you need to look more at the mechanics of the SDK and its documentation. From there, you can go about making any sort of functionality (well, there is some limitations, but they are easy to ignore).

You could solve the "static %now%" (i.e. foobar instance date) problem and make auto-ratings people like me very happy.

Oh, May be i have to spend years to do things post above.I'm a junior in my college. I only spend 5 months to learn c++, I can use c++ with some other libraries to make some simple game like Tetris Worlds etc.. I download the SDK. I haven't figure out the structure of Foobar yet. I read the Document, but my English is not good. The beginning of this thing is hard.

Thank you very much for you and others.I really don't know what to do first. You and other friends who reply the post give me some ways of making Foobar a better media player.  But now I think it beyond my level. I will do some research and try to do something to improve Foobar.
