CUERipper's internal links were updated to use gnudb.org as of 2.1.9
https://github.com/gchudov/cuetools.net/pull/78/commits/66aabc6d1ba829b1208064f4bcd5c5c6a41d0a28
The logo still shows as freedb though. You can submit metadata to gnudb.org using the CUERipper 2.1.9 freedb Submit button.

As far as metadata retrieval is concerned where CUERipper gets metadata from the CTDB. Before freedb closed, the CTDB would replicate and store metadata from freedb but AFAIK gnudb.org does not provide a similar type of access so CTDB currently cannot replicate and store metadata from gnudb.org. New CDs submitted to gnudb.org are not available through CTDB.
