preset voice (for audiobooks)

Is it possible to get more info on the --preset voice tag? What is this a shortcut for? Any other recommended settings for speech/voice?

Want to encode some audiobooks for playback on an iPod and this seems like a good setting (at 56 kbps), but I don't see it discussed much and a search was fruitless. BTW, avoiding AAC at the moment for compatibility issues (sometimes used on another portable).

Thanks.

Oh. I thought there was some magical speech calculations there. Thanks for the answer though. How was 56 (versus 48 or 64) decided on?
