1.3.10 reporting reference libFLAC 1.2.1 20070917

Dear all,

fb2k 1.3.10 is supposed to use libFLAC 1.3.1 according to the release notes. Strangely after applying replay gain or downsampling a flac 1.3.1 source from i.e. 96 kHz to 48kHz, the tool reported in the properties shows reference libFLAC 1.2.1 20070917.

Thanks for caring.

Marcus

foobar doesn't come with an encoder so any downsampling will be done by an encoder you've downloaded yourself. The free encoder pack from the foobar website does come with the latest version of flac or you can get it direct from xiph. Check the converter preferences to make sure it's pointing at the right version.

Applying replaygain doesn't require an encoder and only updates tags. This shouldn't cause the version string to change. I just tested it on some flac 1.3,1 files and nothing bad happened. Are you really sure about this?

"applying" ReplayGain - has the OP used e.g., dBpoweramp's utility codecs, where RG "apply" normalizes the files?

I forgot you can "bake in" RG values during conversion. foobar has an option for this in the processing section of the converter. Again, this would depend on your external encoder.

Thanks all - I had completely forgotten about that. You see how long fb2k has been running without any issues on my machine :-)
