Software to overlay two waveforms visually for comparison

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if there is a program (or a way to do this in Audacity) to overlay an audio file that is practically identical to another file but has a different start time so I can work out the offset in ms between the two?

I know how to line up two files in Audacity and shift+click to create a single pixel line selection across both files as a reference point, but it would be so much easier if I could overlay the two files visually and move one file until it lines up with the other for an easier and arguably more accurate comparison.

TIA.

I'm pretty sure DeltaWave can do what you're looking for.

edit: oops, maybe not.

I don't know about any software doing what you ask for, but I know it gets easier to align waveforms (at least for me) after switching the scale on the left from "Linear" to "dB".
