Equalizer - what are the units ? dB ?

When you change the settings of equalizer bands an integer numerical value is shown, but no unit, which might be dB. Can anybody confirm that ?

The units are in dB. And it is suggested to either auto level the DSP when done adjusting it, or always target it such that the highest band does not exceed 0, and rather attenuate everything else instead of boosting anything.
