How do I understand if an FB install is portable or not?

As the title says, I have an install in a folder onto the desktop
of a W7 PC and I don't remember if I installed it completely
or if I did as a portable.

Thanks.

You can't figure this out by yourself? Install a portable, install a non portable and look how they differ in root folder content and voila you got your answer. Faster still, move the entire foobar root folder to a different location, if it's portable it will be fine, if not then some things won't work anymore. I usually ask questions on the forum when I'm out of ideas but I'm sure someone will give you your answer on a plate.

As far as I understood and AFAICS there should be a file named 'portable_mode_enabled' in the install-directory.
Don't know all differences in detail, but yeah, would be nice to know.
With jazzthieve 'advice' maybe http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/registry_changes_view.html is a help.

In fact there it is such a file. An empty one.

Thanks.

Nope I'm in a good mood, just don't enjoy laziness. He could have perfectly figured it out by himself, he's an experienced foobar user able to build his own config. It's normal to expect certain effort of the user himself before asking, this demonstrated the complete opposite. I take issue with that. A total noob, no problem but fabiospark is far from a noob.

I didn't mean to make other people waste their time for me.

I saw that file but, being totally empty, I was not sure
if it was there to mean what its name implies or if it should
have had something written inside.

I also was not sure that I could have understood comparing
the content of two differen installs.

Sorry.

Thanks.

I dont feel you wasted anyones time. Fb is complicated and intimidating enough especially for newbies like myself. Sometimes even the elites forget things so they should have more patience. Ive been fortunate to get good help here
