Where can I get the latest preset switches?

Hi,

I've downloaded the latest LAME 3.9.2 from here, and am using RazorLame. Where can I find the latest collection of switches to download?

Thanks in advance. I'm new to this game. Any and all advice appreciated regarding setup and switches.

Check this thread for more information:

Basically all you need to do is copy one of those presets listed, go the "Edit" Menu -> Lame Options -> "Expert" tag, then paste the option (--alt-preset standard for example) into the "Custom Options" window.  Then check the box that says "only use custom options".

That should work fine assuming you've set the rest of razorlame up correctly.  If you are using it with the 3.90.2 compile listed here, make sure you extract the razorlame.dat file from the zip included with LAME and overwrite the old one in the RazorLAME directory.

Hi,

Thanks for the help, but that link only describes the switches, it does not allow me to download them, and does not show me their individual components to cut and paste. When I look in custom options, the --dm-- type switches are not there.  Other peoples are there. How do I get the switches?

Related to my above post, I unziped Razor, latest version, got 3.90.2 from here, unziped that, and put them all in the same folder, then started the program by starting Razor.exe. The program just converts forever, and never finishes, and does not show an output format. No dm swtiches are found. I overwrote the razor.dat file with your file.

The funny thing is, if I use Razor with regular 3.90 from Dimittri and use any switch, it works, just not with yours. I'd like to get it to work and use the standard switch.

All help appreciated. Thanks again.

You don't need to download them.  In the "Custom Options" text field I described above, you just type "--alt-preset standard" and check the "only use custom options".

Wherever you unzip the 3.90.2 .exe to, make sure you also point razorlame to it via: "Edit" Menu->Options->"LAME" field.  Browse for the correct .exe if you need to.

My compile works exactly the same as Dmitry's, there must be something wrong when you are setting up razorlame.  That's all I can think of, because using the exact procedures I described in my original post and above, it works fine.  This is verified by others as well.

Hi,

It works. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the help.

Just curious, when saving options, what do you use as the description for the various switches? ie, do you name alt standard "alt standard" or some other descriptive term?

Thanks again, merry xmas.
