fb2k crash/hang when converting

Hi folks,
after long time of using fb2k without any problems, I now encountered an issue after reinstalling windows10.
fb2k crashes, more precise hangs/stops when converting flac to mp3. It only can be canceled via taskmanager kill. I have no idea where to start researching... maybe you can give me a hint?

Sounds like controlled folder access from Windows Defender. Try it again after temporary disabling Windows Defender. If that works you have to allow access to foobar from Windows Defender.

No, that didn't change anything.
I forgot to mention that fb2k starts converting, but after some files, short before finishing, it hangs. Sometimes it does 10, 20 or more files, there is no certain file that causes a hang.
