I've read that Musepack has different sorts of artifacts than typical transform codecs. I've tested some samples that give MP3/Vorbis/AAC trouble, and was pleased to see (or rather, hear) that the smearing of transients in these samples was a non-issue with Musepack --standard.
But what I am wondering is... what sort of artifacts is Musepack prone to? Even more appreciated would be samples demonstrating these artifacts at --standard, but a detailed verbal description would suffice.
Maybe this helps:

Unfortunately the samples aren't available in the threads.
