WEBP Album Art?

I'm not too familiar with how tagging works in audio files, MP3Tag only seems to support PNG and JPEG. Does anyone know if there's a way to embed album art in the WEBP format?

The metadata format itself shouldn't care about the format of the image, it will just require that the mime data is set correctly. But the software will have to be compatible with the image format, so it might be a good idea to stick with JPEG.

I don't know a single audio player which supports image formats other than PNG and JPEG for album art, so are you really sure you want to do that? ;)
