What is the "System" font and where can I find it?

I was checking out the different font options available and ran across one called "System" I really like, but I can't find what it's called. I've found a wikipedia page that seems to be the same thing but it's very vague, or at least doesn't give me a more specific name to search for. And it doesn't seem to have a download. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_(typeface)

Any idea? Thanks.

It is an old font from early Windows versions. It is a bitmap font, and therefore can't be scaled bigger or smaller and has a limited character set, which doesn't allow to display international symbols in music titles. Multiple files exist for different codepages and resolutions/sizes. MS Sans Serif, bold will look almost the same.

8514sys*.fon
85*(codepage)*.fon

Windows 9x used to fallback to this font when it ran out of resources. Your blank white dialogs look alarmingly like a system in distress.

Thank you a lot for the info. And also that's quite funny.

You said MS Sans Serif bold would look almost the same but I can't find anything like that?

Don't you find MS Sans Serif? (You have to select the "Bold" for yourself.)

Fans of the fixedsys also made versions with tons of unicode support: https://github.com/kika/fixedsys/releases
Edit: forgot about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Unifont if that looks like something you want.

Not exactly the same, but close. Jesus, every contiguous set in Excelsior is a vector rectangle. Still the file size is reasonable.

MS Sans Serif doesn't look anything like that font though.
