Should FLAC come with codec profiles?

As in, what the likes of TAK, Monkey's Audio, and WV have to tell users via programs like Foobar what compression level a track is on. How is it that FLAC never provides information as to which compression level was used for a track? I think that would be quite a useful feature to have just to outline it clearly. Is it even possible to add it to FLAC still or should it have been done from the beginning?
