Hi xnor,
I'm under 50. Here are my results.

I cheated a bit : you said that the 501 files contains one tone that is 501 Hz. I analyzed it to know which one it was, so that I know what to listen for.

As usual, I did a bit of training before starting the test. I quickly got 4/4, so I started the real test.
During the test, sometimes I could hear nothing, so I waited and retry. It can be seem looking at the timings in the log. Sometimes I can "feel" something and I answer.
And sometimes, I could clearly hear the pitch difference. It occurs when I listen to X and Y repeatedly. The odd sample breaks the monotony of the repetition.

only managed this after some training, played the two samples on repeat for some time and after a while managed to spot the difference. im in early 30's.

42, Thought I had it on trial 1 after 10 minutes of training, knew I didn't have it on trial 2.
