Encoding Across A Network

I've got a few GB of WAV files on my file server and I have been encoding them using the FLAC Frontend on my office PC. Is there any negatives to encoding across a network? Its a 100/1000 gigabit network. Thx........

Probably not, it might just be a little bit slower, that's all, since transferring across the network would eat some CPU.
