I think its partly because of the way this forum is built. Sometimes i do wish for a declutter of the messages. A lot of space is occupied by unnecessary info. Not optimal for phones. Also tree structure for responses would be neat.
The last time I checked, Tapatalk didn't work with it either.

OPUS, because any device I use for music playback supports it, excellent compression that's really fast, sounds great, and is free software.

Hmm... 119 votes so far.
With roughly 3/4 of the year gone, it looks like we're gonna barely reach 2019 levels.

Buth heck, such numbers have been going down since the first of these post-2000s polls:

200+ votes for this year is possible.

Is there way to make this poll sticky on main forum page?

Sorry, but, what for?

It's just a poll.

Same question can easily go to you , who has continued  old HA traditional poll despite low number of votes for  last 10+ years.

Sorry, but why care at all then, right?

Questions of attitude is just that ... attitude.

Why taking it to heart?

Mine's easy: where there's a will, there's a way. Yours?

Here are the graph and infographic including 2024.

Power series trend lines are shown for the three most used formats (MP3, Opus, and AAC) as they best represent data that starts with rapid change and levels off.

Like the previous 8 polls, the ad hoc line graph shows two distinct tiers: - Top tier: The three leading formats hover between 22-32% adoption - Bottom tier: All formats below Ogg sit at 2-10% adoption. Within a 7% margin of error, these lower-tier formats (including "no lossy encoder") have statistically equivalent adoption rates.

Note: This poll data represents only those HA members who chose to participate, and may not accurately reflect the lossy encoder preferences of a broader community.
