Last post by BoomBam -
%added% show nothing(N/A). I have this components from Feb 2024 and added many tracks. Tried with new portable v2.1.5, tried v1.6.18... same result. Maybe I miss something but cant find what. Tried with MP4, MP3, FLAC files.

Here is picture from new foobar2000(v2.1.5) portable installation and Column UI. Maybe Why "Show recently played" and "Show recently added" are in gray?  ::) (example to show you only %added% show nothing, while %play_count% works fine)

Support - (fb2k) / Strange hand when run fb2k
Last post by Forfit -
I have a really strange problem.
I start OS with Administrator1 Account.
After start with Runas Fb2k with Administrator2 Account.
It happens that the DX button on Start does not work, the Start apps do not start and Explorer becomes very slow and hang.
This also happens with the previous beta versions and the release.
 This also happens without components.
This problem remains up to the disconnection even if I close FB2K.
No problem if I start in the same way another player.

The problem disappears if disable "Integrate with Windows Universal Volume Control".

@sveakul

In the first place, the components of this developer are highly dependent on the DAC. It has nothing to do with the price of the DAC.
Therefore, it cannot be said that this component or this setting will necessarily produce beautiful sound.

1. Super Audio CD Decoder (foo_input_sacd.dll) +  ASIO+DSD support (foo_out_asio+dsd.dll) +Output: ASIO+DSD: DSD DAC ASIO Driver
2. uDSD Decoder (foo_input_udsd) + ASIO, WASAPI [exclusive] etc...

The biggest advantage of the new version 2 is that it is easier to set up.
https://foobar2000.xrea.jp/?Input+64bit#ec0811f6
But I recommend 1 (for now).
For some people, option 2 may be more appropriate.

This is the environment I'm listening to right now. It's the same as number 1. I can hear it clearly.
uDSD Decoder (foo_input_udsd) + ASIO
Audinst HUD-DX1 PCM 32bit/384kHz, DSD(DSD64/ DSD128), DXD(32bit/384kHz)

I think there are not many people who can actually play DSD native.
However, there are many people who are happy that they can play (PCM playback), and many people who review it using headphones that do not support High-Resolution Audio.

I'll answer you here.

I saw the message privately.

I'll let you know if it's okay.
I should also understand if I need to validate the flags:

In Private...
I'll release it on the forum tonight but yes, alpha3 disables In Private Mode by default and uses the latest WebView2 SDK.

In Private Mode seemed like a good decision for local content but I guess I was wrong. The latest SDK hopefully fixes the crashes some of you experience.;

I've been testing for a while, and haven't had any crashes.

The problem seems to have been solved.

THX.  :D

foobar2000 mobile / Re: foobar2000 for android showing incorrect capitalization on metadata
Last post by Air KEN -
I was wrong, it's not a formatting issue. Media Library shows the tag contents using the capitalization it learned when it first saw that particular string. If mobile foobar2000 has seen album name "The Most Wonderfulest Thing" before seeing "the most wonderfulest thing" the tag based browser will show the capitalized variant. It seems Media Library only stores strings once and ignores case.

So for media library you can't have different spelling for same names.
If you are certain you don't have differently spelled tags in your library folders and wish to force the titles to "correct" case, just wipe foobar2000 data in phone settings and let it reindex libraries. That will refresh Media Library caches. But as you have already done this in a slower way by uninstalling and reinstalling, it would appear that you do have different spelling somewhere in your library.

Hmm. The library is updated automatically. Tag edits are reflected immediately.

Interesting.  I assume strings are being replaced by tokens as a form of data compression.  If the tokenisation is case-insensitive, that prevents the user choosing to use different capitalisation in different places – I would never have guessed that.

There is no copyright on titles, so nothing stopping nominally the same title being used for different tracks, and potentially with deliberately different capitalisation.
