CDs (or WAV) to AAC with EAC

Hi there,
I wonder why other forums (like Ogg - General) do have central a recommended encoder topic, wich can be used for EAC but this forum doesn't have....

Wich encoder is recommended to be used with EAC?
I have read some people creatings FLACS first and then convert to AAC....
but EAC already creates WAV files first before encoding to the specified format...

It would be very nice if there was a (sticky)topic for this... because now there are several topics wich have similar questions.
