Real Audio into mka container

Hi,

I'm testing the Real Audio format into the mka container and I've some problems...

1°) With ralf (Real Audio Lossless Format) files. I try to put this file into mmg but I've an error message : The input file 'D:\TEST\Compilation_1.ra' does not contain any tracks  Real Audio lossless isn't implemented into mkvmerge, right ??

2°) With ra files (i.e from lossy compression). I've noticed a problem for the Codec ID when I put them into mka :

Here from TCMP :

Thanks.

PS : I use mkvtoolnix 0.9.4 pack.

By default AAC is used now for high bitrates when you encode with their tools. SO that's no surprise to see it here.

I think RealAudio lossless is not yet supported by mkvtoolnix or Matroska in general.

Correct.

Why AAC Codec ID ?? Why not RA ??

Because RealAudio uses normal AAC and HE-AAC depending on the bitrate involved. mkvmerge just re-arranges the packets. No need for a special 'RealAudio' CodecID for that.

I assume Real Audio Lossless will not be integrate into Matroska, right ??

Don't think so. There are a lot of free lossless codecs that are already implemented in Matroska and the associated tools (TTA, FLAC) or that will be implemented soon (WavPack). And my (or our) time is limited enough as it is.
