WASAPI HDMI Out - Determining supported channel maps

Does anyone know of a piece of software or code that can determine supported WASAPI channel maps for a WASAPI output device?

I've read that is cannot be directly queried and you literally need to check for each channel map in turn but cannot seem to find software that can determine supported maps.
