The virtual cd/dvd drive Daemon Tools 4 is released, the changelog below. Please notify that the authors has introduced adware to the installer to get paid for their continued work. It is selected by default, but can be unselected or removed at a later time.
The changelog for V4:
* complete redesign from scratch
* support of 4 virtual drives
* ONLY X32-supported now. X64 will follow
* Drivername randomly generated on each machine (not finished yet)
* Drive-vendor and versionnumber randomly generated
* Complete new emulation architecture
* DCP (DaemonCodeProtect) to make analyses harder and increase development time for malicious anti-DT tools
* Digital signature verification of applications who are trusted to access DT in secure mode
* AutoInsertNotification fully implemented (can be turned on/off at ControlPanel)
* Dropped: MS-Installer, DT now use modificated NullsoftInstaller
* Dropped: analog sound support (as Windows 2000 and above do not need this feature)

* support of 4 virtual drives
Didn't it already?? I have 3.47 and I can select 4 virtual drives (not that I would ever need to). Thanks for the heads up it seems like this version has been
quite long in the making.

And unfortunately it seems the wait wasn't really worth it so far...

Still no support for cue sheets with compressed images.
I think I'll hold off on upgrading for a while after reading the full details on the site. I mostly use Daemon Tools for old games with annoying partial installs that normally would require reading data off the CD every few minutes. The copy protection is an issue but not necessarily the main one for me.
