For some sources, the size information is available from the search results - either because it always provides a fixed size, or because the size is listed somewhere in the results page. Where it isn't available, it will just list it as unknown until the image is actually downloaded.

Initially I was thinking that it's possible to preview only the header of the jpeg file - before downloading the whole file - and that AAD takes the pixel dimension and file size from there. That assumption led me to believe that the encoding type could be prefetched the same way.

Now I realize that AAD probably fetches the pixel & size info from the HTTP code. Is this the case?

3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: JScript Panel script discussion/help

It appears that you are using Aero themes. In that case GetSysColour is not going to help you, as it only returns a single colour value.
If you look closely, the menu background is not a solid colour but a gradient, or maybe even a combination of two gradients depending on the theme.

I'm not aware of any documented ways of getting that info from the system. One thing you could try is extracting a sample of that pattern graphically from a screen shot and stretching it to the desired width.

That may cover your personal setups (until you make any changes in Windows themes), but a generic solution would be much more difficult to build.

Yes, another way is to use:

function on_main_menu(index) {

Then i can put buttons on standard toolbar. I tried that and works fine. But problem is that popup menu which buttons open, cant folow button position on toolbar, it folows jscript panel position. So if i move button, menu wont folow.

And i must then somehow hide jscript panel.

Maybe Marc can help?

Audio Hardware / Re: Choosing the right amplifier (Rotel vs Primare)

Surely with an amplifier measurement tells you everything? The amplifier output should be an accurate reflection of the input, that is easier to confirm by measurement. And is trying to give an amplifier some sort of sonic character not just introducing distortion, which means degrading its performance? The thing I have never understood about this is why so many hi-fi enthusiasts and magazine reviewers rave about the idea of characterful sound in amplifiers but then have a pathological aversion to tone controls. That seems illogical and stupid as if you want to adjust the sound (and I have no issue with that) then surely using tone controls which can be adjusted is way more sensible than spending $$$$$$$'s to get distortion you' re then stuck with. Not to mention that tone control can be very helpful in adjusting a system for room acoustics.

Opus / Re: What is the bitrate of your Opus files?

I am surprised you can listen to 'Death Metal' as that music is horrible, but yet, you still like Classical. maybe I am mistaken, but I would not expect to find many people who like Classical liking Death Metal or vice versa.

I see Classical and Death Metal as polar opposites as I always thought that Classical music is the closest music one can get to Heaven and Death Metal is the closest music one can get to hell as Death Metal just screams negativity.

There's plenty of people in the metal scene who listen to and enjoy classical music, who also like Death Metal - and so do I. I'd be careful when your personal taste and confusions make your judgment of other people flawed. I assume Classical Music might very well be the second most popular genre among Death Metal fans. This shouldn't come as a surprise, considering the large amounts of orchestrated albums and live shows performed by Metal artists. Just a few examples to illustrate my point:

Satyricon

Dimmu Borgir

Apocalyptica

Rage

In fact there exists an entire Death Metal Symphony by Waltari:

Death Metal Symphony

But (Death) Metal really doesn't need its Classical influences to be legitimized, incredible compositions can stand proudly on their own two feet.

Sorry for the tangent, but this needed to be addressed.

I'm afraid there's not a listening test at that high bitrate and the results may not reproduce the results from 96k tests, so you'll have to make own ABX of both modes at this bitrate to be sure. But I bet you won't hear any difference as whatever mode at this bitrate is in the main transparent.
