Windows Seven RC is here.  The only thing I wish the developper would think of developping is the Jump List à la Windows Media Player and Windows Live Messenger.

Here is the Jump List for Windows Live Messenger :

Note : In French here...

Would totally love that for foobar.

LordWarlock, thanks for the link but something integrated within foobar; not by a 3rd party plugin

Yeah, and we desperately need native x64 binary. (sarcasm)

No (desperate) need for native implementation unless everyone out there uses windows 7 and/or developer abandons the plugin.
Sharing delusions since 1991.

x64 will always be welcome in the future.
Also, when I say implement something by default, it does not mean to kill the 3rd party app.  We can still integrate it with a basic jump list.  As far as I know, the 3rd party plugin can easily change buttons, show album art and stuff but the one that could be implemented should be basic and if people prefer the other, then can switch between foobar's and 3rd party's.

what exactly does the option "Show own thumb bar" for columns ui in foo_w7shell do?

(never mind, got it)

One thing that I think would be neat for fb2k in Windows 7: Certain programs like ImgBurn and a download window in IE8 show a progress bar directly in the taskbar via a green overlay, it'd be cool to implement that to show how far along in the song you are.

No, that's just adding random clutter to the taskbar. Completely unnecessary IMO.

Did anyone managed to use 'Album Art Downloader' via Run Services on Windows 7? (and more specifically x64).
I cannot seem to make it work (although it does work, even with parameters, when I run it from CMD).
Any idea?

I had a problem with this too, and in my case it was so simple that I searched for hours to find the cause. I just had "C:\Program Files\[...]" in the path and in Windows 7 it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\[...]".

This functionality has to be implemented at the core level. But this component will have make do until that happens.

The above component does show a progress bar but not in the same fashion as Windows Media Player. You have to hover over the taskbar button to see it.

Also foobar2000 has to synchronize with the mixer. This is something that definitely has to be implemented at the core level.

seem to have fixed my issues in windows 7 with files not loading after ya either click on them / right click them by running the foobar2000 Shell Associations Updater in the foobar directory

had drag n drop isssues under win7 as well but those seem to be related to me trying to run the program as administrator rather than as a regular user.

I running .9.5.1 on Windows 7 RC and none of the open file dialog boxes will open.  For example going to File>Open the dialog never appears.  Everything else seems to be working.  Any ideas how to fix this.  It worked fine in Vista SP2

Try 0.9.6.9.

OK, I tried .9.6.9 and I still can't open any open file dialogs.  For instance File>Open and nothing happens.  No other apps I run have this problem.  Any ideas?

OK, I got .9.5.1 running again by going thru the compatibility wizard.  I have no idea what it actually did, but it's now running fine in "Vista SP1 compatibility mode".  Still curious why .9.6.9 didn't work either for me though since that's supposed to be supported for Windows 7.

I also have the problem that "Play in foobar2000" and "Enqueue in foobar2000" is sometimes shown and sometimes not.
It is always NOT shown, when the option to playback the folder in Media Player is shown.
Is there a trick to make Windows show the foobar2000 options also on these folders?

Ah yes, I'm running Windows 7 RC and foobar2000 0.9.6.9.

Best regards,
Chris

EDIT:
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....mp;#entry652007 did the trick!

See this post. And that whole topic for more information.
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

That would completely piss me off.

However, it would be nice in places where it's actually relevant - i.e. scanning/applying replaygain, performing foo_fileops stuff, etc

I agree with kopf. the w7_shell component has an option to use exactly this feature and it's annoying as hell.
Showing replayGain progress/conversion would definitely be nice.

Btw, no problems with foobar 0.9.6.9  on win7 x64 RTM so far. No crashes, no weirdness.
UAC is disabled now, but there were no critical issues with it on either, except the "cannot access global keys from elevated programs" (e.g. games) one, but that's not a win7 specific problem

I agree, rg and/or converter progress would be more interesting here. After a couple of weeks with Win7 Professional the new task bar features (the hovering over things) turned out to be not very useful for me. I simply do not use them. It's maybe a question of habits and workflow. I tend to press alt+tab to switch tasks, and need no preview.
