can i increase the VOICE volume in my movies?

Hi
i ripped some of my movie in avi

i try to watch them in my pc , the quality is good

but the voice volume is every time low
some of my friends lend their movies in avi format
and the voice volume is LOW


can i increase only the voice volume?
maybe with eq?
how?

If it's discrete 5.1, the voice is in the centre channel, so boost that. (Not sure how!).

If it's in stereo, you can do a similar thing with the sum/difference channel, or DPL2 decoding, but it's not as effective.

maybe with a multi-purpose decoder like:

(with this you should be able to boost center on 5.1 or on dpl2-compatible files...)
