Made a little song on FL

I'm pretty newb to the whole music creation scene but I sat down this evening with a tune in my head and wanted to make something.

Please don't dismiss it because you don't like drum and bass - the genre is generally pretty repetitive aside from a few good artists, so please be constructive in your criticism

Made in Fruity Loops as I don't have much monies for expensive soundfonts and samples etc.

Genre nitpick:
I've never heard anything that anyone credible called "drum and bass" with a steady 4/4 bass kick. If I had to place this anywhere, it would be closer to hardcore. Its rhythm structure is completely unlike any drum and bass I've ever encountered, although the bass-line is quite DnBish. If I had to stick it in some subgenre, I'd go with terrorcore, or dark hardcore, or something along those lines.

Pros:
I'm quite impressed with the sound you've pulled out of FL Studio. The synth side of things is quite impressive. With a few more nuances, you could probably make this marketable. It's got potential, that's definitely for sure.

Cons:
The non-kick rhythm should be louder. It's utterly drowned out by the rest of it. It is generally a little "sparse" sounding. Add a couple more layers to it. Switch up some of the loops. It is a bit repetitive.

This is an excellent first draft for a track. Keep working on it, keep adding detail. I'll keep downloading.

Wow, thanks for the nice comments - I definately agree with pretty much everything you said - the song needs far more in the way of detail, eg switching, glitching drums (argh, this is hard :'(), generally changing the balance of certain things.

I also need to change the annoying drum sample for the heavier pounding drum riff.
