AAC & Channel Coupling

Just trialled Helix Producer's AAC encoder and find that they provide different profiles for DPL surround stereo files. I'm guessing this is similar to Lame's -nssafejoint switch & prevents mid-side/joint/intensity/whatever stereo from messing up the matrixed info.

Wondering if anyone has uncovered similar settings or problems with matrixed surround sound resulting from the lack of such settings in other AAC encoders (Nero/FAAC/iTunes)?
