Why was IgorC banned?

I just noticed IgorC account listed as Banned just wondering what happened?

He has posted a pro-Russian opinion and therefore was banned.

He is russian. Provoked, what opinion was he supposed to post?
@spoon @CiTay @Peter maybe after changes in management, leaving politics, religion and bedroom aside, we might have IgorC - the audio technology enthusiast, reinstated - shall we?

I'm not so sure that the people that run this place actually want IgorC back.  It was apparent back then where they stood and it probably hasn't changed much either.  Russia is not a very well liked or respected country at the moment and a lot of countries also ban doing any business with Russia.

Calling it "pro-Russian" is glossing over it.
Sure, .ua wartime propaganda will gladly equate the propaganda of SS-tattooed Nazi mass-murderers, with "pro-Russian".
(Even before being taken over as the private army of the Russian president.)

It is generally up to site owners how much pro-genocide or bigotry they want to re-publish. I am sure there are "opinions" about (*looks through the artists in my current signature*) John Cage, Anna-Varney and Rob Halford that would easily provoke a ban.

We're supposed to be an audio technology enthusiasts forum, not a forum of bigotry and Russian propaganda.  If IgorC had to be shown the door and not allowed back for the stuff he posted it, so be it.

Wait. What?

Since the first time he PM'd me, he made me to be in the impression he was a fellow latin American:

Though he may as well be in transit then, in the several messages exchanged till "the end" he didn't care to correct that impression. To make matters worse, this dumbass here has totally overlooked his references to it - even in the thread I linked to myself!🙄

>Reinstated
There's such a thing as timing, you know, but also, we ordinary members simply lack the grasp of the whole shenanigan as it developed itself, at least enough to pass any judgement, such as previous warnings or reprimands. That's naturally an administrator's prerogative, isn't it?

He was born in Russia and then moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Don't our civilization retain the right to parrot other country's propaganda and then laughed at?

Then the last part that you cropped off:

If you can get thrown off a forum for spewing bullshit about this expensive audio hardware sounds better than that ...

I'm observing geopolitics closely, at the sources and publications of (US/EU/RU/CN) since maybe 15 years, I'm very interested - and I try to close my ears about plebs discussions and what/how they're fed via mass media. The mechanisms of propaganda have been very well studied and taught (in order to not fall into the trap). Many of those past teachers today, it's about career and power, chose the path of war(business). This is not assumed to be a problem becauseother people die, not their own kids.
There's this 8 min. Gopro like video from yesterday of a soldier vs. soldier close combat fight with a knife (doesn't really matter who lost and went to Valhalla) - once again reminds us how ridiculous it is, 2 males fighting it out, personally, intense, - but what personal issue was between those two gentlemen? Nothing. Willy OAM on Youtube talks about the video in a sensible way, no direct footage there (recommended). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXQa7G03cwY

<- Look, there is Shostakovich. Oh, he was a Soviet. Oh bad oh bad. But oh, he was struggling with Stalin. Oh good, oh good.
No. Nothing. F O WITH UR AGENDAS YOU LEARNT THRU REPETITION, LIKE APES

Someone wrote it. Politics, especially Geopolitics, must stay out of unrelated WWW Fora at all cost, I agree.

There is no point clawing at eachothers faces which IgorC did. We should just be processing the material we are able to obtain and work towards a consensus together no matter which political systems agenda you are beeing fed or what outcome you wish for the war. It doesnt matter if its politics or random audio topics. Discussions work the same in each category. Banning politics wont help that.
It was a shame it came to this as i usually like some perspective from these people but IgorC just wasnt ready for mediation yet. Hes obviously convinced of his points but he has to understand we are in the same situation and need to be careful which sources we can trust. I dont think he needs that much convincing that a rammstein music video isnt one of them, as much as i like the band.
And so, with digital, computer was put into place, and all the IT that came with it.

By staying curious. By studying history, psychology, being aware of current events and being able to connect the relevant dots with the brain. Critical thinking and broad knowledge are the best defenses against misinformation. People who fall prey to propaganda often lack intellectual curiosity or willingness to question established narratives. While IgorC was competent in his audio-related tests, his amusing susceptibility to Russian propaganda ultimately led to his well-deserved ban.

There's a saying in Brazil that goes like "a fish dies through its mouth", referring to someone who, though possessing intelligence, spoils it all by not keeping it shut.

Pretty sure other cultures may have similar ones as well.
