Upon experimenting I have noticed various pros and cons in each method and I am going to share them with you.

One interesting fact is that files converted with foobar and Nero aac encoder is producing worst quality and even with greater file size. I have a directory of 960 mp3 files with 4.7 GB. First I converted with foobar and Nero aac encoder with 48 kbps vbr and it converted those files to m4a of size 1.7gb. Then I have converted using db power amp with fdk aac and 64 kbps vbr and he v2 aac and this time the file size is 1.6 GB. Finally I have converted using db power amp with 64 kbps vbr and lc aac this time the converted files size is, 1.3 GB. The audio quality of the files converted in the last step is acceptable and the files converted using foobar is not at all good.

Upon analyzing the above scenario can I say that foobar converter is not good and db power amp is best than foobar. Can I say that Nero aac produces worst quality audio files.

Suppose I want to convert using fdk aac with 48 kbps vbr can you suggest which of the above setting's to use and suppose I want to convert using fdk aac with 64 kbps vbr can you suggest which of the above setting's to use.

I second A_Man_Eating_Duck's opinion.

Disk Space is cheap these days. I've regret many times not backing up my CD collection properly. Now, most of my CDs are dead.
You will have more versatility with a lossless backup of your CDs, versus lossy MP3's and possible dead CDs in the future.

Go with a lossless format, FLAC has plenty of support these days. Even Windows 10 supports FLAC out of the box. Then you can do target encoding when you need it. By target encoding, I mean encoding per scenario using the best option for that particular situation.

For example I use lossless on my computer, and encode to AAC for my car stereo.

i really wish i could use fb2k on my latest ubuntu release as well.

What is stopping you? Again, you just need to install Wine 2 and foobar2000 will run just fine.
3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: JScript Panel

Encountered a small bug in panel properties:
If you select an entry and then scroll, the entry's value will remain at the same (but wrong) place. For example:
Always nice to see JScript Panel see some use, and with a dark theme, too.

Ah, yes, that was not mentioned. Length and any supported property (title, thumbnail_url, view_count etc) can be passed using fb2kx_ prefix (fb2kx_length, fb2kx_thumbnail_url). When adding a clip, they are stripped from URL and corresponding properties are stored to the cache (without overwriting existing ones).

Thanks :)
4.0.2a has the same problem. I need to convert panel_yt.js and lodash.min.js file codes to utf-8 with BOM before I can use it normally.
The panel_yt.js file 884 line has full-width characters.
Still crashes when clicking on volume bar in Playlist Mode, PREPROCESSOR is still missing the timeout-shim.js file.
Damn, wrong .fcl uploaded...
Does adding BOM fix the crash in Cover Panel?
General - (fb2k) / Re: New HDD and Mass lossless conversion

Rather than keeping the old library as a backup, I have backuped the new library (900 GB, including 34K FLAC 1.3.2 files and 13K lossy files) to a backup HDD.

If you are going to delete the old - and, assuming you have not already done so - I would have used a utility that deletes duplicates by name and/or by content, to see if there is anything left uncopied / unconverted.
If you do that a clever way, you could possibly detect if there were any files too corrupted for fb2k to even recognize as FLAC.  I took a lot of such measures when I got rid of 1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.2.0 and 1.3.0. Paranoid? Well yeah ...

I don't have access to a Windows system right now (I use Linux on the desktop) so I don't know if the lyrics extensions would work.

I'd suggest you try. Here's one

The captions are essentially lyrics - but with time indications, as an SRT file - e.g.

00:00:02,500 --> 00:00:04.750
This is a line of text that would display from 2.5 seconds through 4.75 seconds of the audio.

So, exactly the same as timestamped lyrics.

Sorry to hear plugins for the android version can't be made available, I guess Android users with hearing impairment will just need to either use VLC or not have the aid of captions.

What are we talking about here? Desktop or mobile because you seem to be mixing them up in one post. As I mentioned, this board is for desktop version only. If you want to talk about mobile version you can do so here.
And while I revived that old thread... the formula from the first page:
Code: [Select]
1/ ( 2 pi bandwidth number_of_levels)
I wanted to make sure I got it right.
There’s a derivation of the formula here (with refinement in the following few posts).
