Title: player for g.729
Post by: vancedailey on 2005-07-19 23:10:05
We use an Asterisk PBX and we record our phone calls using the g.729 codec. I would like to be able to listen to these recordings using WMP or another popular media player. Does anyone know of a plugin allowing WMP to play g.729 files? Does anyone know of a another player which supports g.729?

Thanks,
Vance

best bet is to look for support for h323 or the openh323 project: http://www.openh323.org/code.html (http://www.openh323.org/code.html)

also, check for speex support (see if a speex plugin fixes your problem) - at least on linux, speex uses libopenh323

Thanks for the suggestions however, my application involves receiving calls from Verizon and they only support g.711 and g.729. So I am stuck with g.729.
